How It Works

Optical Switch Section

· Initial state: Normally closed – light path is interrupted.

· Actuation: When both buttons are pressed simultaneously, the internal mechanical structure shifts, aligning the fibers and allowing light to pass through.

· Release: If either button is released or not pressed at the same time, the internal spring returns the mechanism to the open state, breaking the optical path instantly.

Splitter Section

· The incoming optical signal is first routed through the switch. Once the switch is activated, the light enters the integrated splitters:

o    50/50 splitter – equally divides the signal into two outputs.
