Product Overview

The MEMS Variable Attenuation Array from Coreray integrates 16 independent variable optical attenuators (VOAs) into a single compact module. Based on reliable Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) technology, this array offers precise optical power control across an ultra‑wide wavelength range of 400–2640nm, covering visible to infrared bands. Each channel provides up to 55dB attenuation range with 0.1dB resolution, making it ideal for multichannel power management in test systems, lab setups, and instrumentation.

The module accepts 0–5V analog control signals, allowing direct interface with DACs or microcontrollers. It supports single‑mode (SM), multimode (MM), and polarization‑maintaining (PM) fibers, and is available in various connector and package options to suit your application.

Key Features

  • High Stability & Repeatability – Excellent long‑term stability and <0.5dB  repeatability over 0–60°C.

  • Low Cost & Compact Size – Cost‑effective solution for multichannel attenuation in a small footprint.

  • Low Power Consumption – ≤10mW typical, ideal for portable and embedded systems.

  • Wide Wavelength Range – 400–2640nm supports diverse applications from visible spectroscopy to telecom.

  • High Dynamic Range – Up to 55dB attenuation with 0.1dB resolution.

  • Low Polarization Dependent Loss (PDL) – ≤0.2dB for SM fibers in 0–15dB  attenuation range.

  • Fast Response –  1–3ms typical response time (0→20dB).
